About Us

All In Mentoring is a school-based one-on-one mentoring non-profit which began operating in the Waverly-Shell Rock (Iowa) School District during the 2021-22 school year. Our mission (or our “AIM”) is to “invest in intergenerational mentoring relationships that create confident & compassionate individuals.”

Why AIM Exists

Research from similar mentoring programs reveal that students who receive adult support are

far more likely to attend school regularly & complete their school work,
likely to see an improvement in their grades, mental health, and self-confidence,
less likely to engage in at-risk behavior (drugs, alcohol, crime, etc.)
more likely to become the citizens our future world needs

The Waverly-Shell Rock School District is a well-respected district in the state of Iowa. Families have intentionally moved to Waverly because of our schools. This has resulted in dynamic students in our K-12 system who go on to become phenomenal leaders in their universities, careers, and communities. However, when you have such a strong school system, occasionally some kids can slip through the cracks. AIM exists to “fill the gaps,” helping every child have the support they need to become who they were created to be, by addressing the social, emotional, and mental health of the youth in our community.

Our History

How We Operate

We pair an adult mentor with a student in grades K-6, giving these matches the opportunity to meet for 30 minutes once a week during the school day.

Our mentors have all undergone a background check, been thoroughly interviewed, and continually supported to help them make the most of their time with their match. Our “AIM” is for our all of our mentors to reflect our four values, in hopes they will pass those values on to their student match.
