AIM For FUN: A Success!

Our very first fundraiser was a smashing success in SO many ways! To see the community's support of our organization, based on the number of people in attendance that night, was amazing. The support through silent auction items and other in-kind donations was fantastic. The overwhelming support of local businesses who chose to sponsor our event when they have some many great causes to give to was heartwarming. The fun and excitement of the night is hard to put into words or to quantify! We thank those of you who participated in any way in our fundraiser! We look forward to making AIM For Fun an annual tradition to continue our mission of "investing in intergenerational mentoring relationships that create confident and compassionate individuals".

AIM Certified Through Iowa MENTOR

After nearly 2 years of success, AIM sought out certification through Iowa MENTOR. Iowa MENTOR is an affiliate of MENTOR National serving a unique role as a clearinghouse for training, resources, awareness, and advocacy, providing the critical link between MENTOR's national efforts and local organizations and programs that foster and support quality mentoring relationships. Certification requirements include the completion of the Iowa MENTOR annual report and participation in the National Quality Mentoring System (NQMS) review every three years, which includes registration in the Mentoring Connector national database. After completion of their first review, AIM was approved as a certified mentoring program. AIM Staff and board members are excited to share this accomplishment with the community. Executive Director, Kori Chamberlin, stated: “By receiving this certification, AIM has proven to have a quality program that puts safety and relationships above all”.
