Most of our matches kicked off last week! I am looking forward to hearing how your first few visits go and how your mentees have grown over the summer.
As we get back into the swing of a new school year, I wanted to make sure everyone knows where the AIM games/activities are located at their school:
AIM Totes/Games
Carey- Teachers' Lounge
Lied Center- ask the secretary (Tricia)
Middle School- Barbie Bass' office in the Student Services office (2nd floor)
Shell Rock- the wooden cabinet in the main office
Southeast- closet across the hall from the office (marble run is up on shelves in the closet too)
West Cedar- closet behind the secretary's desk

Becoming a Better Mentor Series:
Adopting a Mentoring Mindset
|
|
|
Iowa MENTOR will be hosting a series of VIRTUAL mentor training sessions for mentors who would like to learn several key aspects of being a mentor. The mindsets and attitudes that lay the foundation for a strong mentoring relationship; basic information about youth development and the typical relationship cycle a mentor might experience while mentoring; and critical thinking skills and competencies mentors may need to grow and refine so they can meet the needs of the young people in their life. Our first session, Adopting a Mentoring Mindset, is scheduled for October 24, 2023, Noon-1pm CST.
